TRACEABILITY ACROSS INDUSTRY
FIMARK provides laser-marked identification codes, labels and nameplates for a wide range of industrial sectors. Permanent, machine-readable marking is applied where long-term traceability, security and accurate identification are essential throughout the lifecycle of a component.

REGULATED AND DEFENCE APPLICATIONS
For aerospace and defence environments, FIMARK delivers UID solutions in accordance with MIL-STD-130N, including direct part marking and verification certification. Unique Identifier (UID) codes, a specialised form of Data Matrix code, are increasingly mandatory for suppliers operating within regulated and military supply chains.

BAR CODES, DATA MATRIX AND UID
Machine-readable code types are selected based on data density, surface conditions and operational requirements. Barcodes are used for simpler data sets on high-contrast surfaces, while Data Matrix and UID codes support higher data capacity, durability and reliability in more demanding applications.
Data Matrix codes can store up to 2,000 characters, with sizes ranging from 25 microns to over 300 mm². Built-in redundancy allows codes to remain readable even when partially damaged.

VARIABLE DATA AND SERIALISATION
Laser marking enables serial numbers, batch data and variable information to be applied to almost any surface. Data is converted from text files into the required graphical format, allowing accurate, repeatable application of barcodes, Data Matrix, UID or QR codes across production runs.

MATERIAL-SPECIFIC MARKING CONTROL
Laser parameters are optimised for each material to maximise contrast and readability. On steel, surfaces may be marked through controlled darkening, while aluminium and other substrates are etched to achieve clear, durable codes. This approach ensures consistent performance across curved, uneven, reflective or low-contrast surfaces.

VERIFICATION AND READABILITY ASSURANCE
Codes are applied and assessed to ensure reliable machine readability throughout the component lifecycle. Verification processes confirm contrast, definition and data accuracy, supporting consistent scanning performance in demanding service and operational environments.
